Data Management with Coscine
What is Coscine?
Coscine — short for Collaborative Scientific Integration Environment—is a research data management (RDM) platform developed by the IT Center of RWTH Aachen. It enables researchers, especially in NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia), to:
- Store, manage, and archive research data (and metadata) in compliance with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable)
- Manage your ressources collaborativly within your team, project partners and external (invited) researchers.
- Access collaborative storage resources, such as RDS (object storage), GitLab, or Linked Data services—called resources in Coscine
- Assign persistent identifiers (PIDs) to projects and resources, supporting traceability and reuse
- Collaborate across institutions via login through university SSO or ORCID
- Archive data for up to 10 years to meet good scientific practice.
